Middle School Education
Keri Butcher (Math and Social Studies)
Keri Butcher earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing from Michigan State University and a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Wayne State University. She also has a Mathematics endorsement for middle school. Keri has taught elementary students in Metro Detroit for nine years. After five years in fourth grade, Keri received a promotion. She had the privilege, as math and reading instructional specialist, to work closely with teachers to use data to drive and improve their classroom instruction. Mrs. Butcher was able to work in small groups with students to improve the skills that they struggled with. Keri’s passion for teaching and challenging the minds of her students has led her to BHA. Mrs. Butcher is excited and very proud to work with the middle school students, parents, and staff of Beverly Hills Academy!
Sara Coyle (Language Arts and Social Studies)
Sara Coyle earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Albion College and a M.A.T. degree from Wayne State University. She holds a Professional Education Certificate through the state of Michigan. She earned an AMS Certificate from the Michigan Montessori Education Center and has taught at BHA for six years. Before coming to BHA, Sara taught at the Academy of Sacred Heart for six years, teaching 7th and 8th Grade Language Arts, and before that she taught in the Upper Elementary classroom at Brookfield Academy (West Bloomfield campus) for two years. Mrs. Coyle enjoys reading, crocheting, and spending time with her family.
Julie Martin (Science and Social Studies)
Julie Martin earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Michigan University and also holds a Professional Education Certificate through the state of Michigan. Julie has taught Middle School Science for the past twenty two years. She has also taught Middle School Social Studies, Health, and Art. Julie enjoys teaching and is dedicated to children's educational needs and development. When not teaching, Julie enjoys hiking, camping, and travelling throughout the Upper Peninsula with her husband and their dogs.
