Islamic Studies Program
At Beverly Hills Academy, the Islamic Studies program provides students with an empowering, relevant understanding of Islam that is both academically rigorous and spiritually meaningful. The general focus of the program is to instill in children the love of God and His messengers and a desire to live uprightly according to the noble characteristics found in the Qur’an and Sunnah. We approach this be fostering an initial emotional connection, which develops into an intellectual and finally spiritual connection by the time our students graduate.
The curriculum is split into two parts, one for Qur’anic Studies and the other Islamic Foundations. Qur’anic studies is focused on a unique, holistic approach to Qur’an memorization, wherein students memorize Qur’an at their own pace while learning how to read it with the proper recitation (tajweed) and study the Arabic to understand its meaning in English and how it applies to their lives. By using this method, students are able to memorize the Qur’an in a manner that positively shapes their lives and minds.
In Middle School, Islamic Foundations are based off a unique, originally created curriculum that provides students with an in-depth knowledge of the most important aspects of Islamic Studies, including Belief (Aqeedah), the Life of the Prophet Muhammad (Seerah), Jurisprudence (Figh), Prophetic Traditions (Hadith), Noble Character (Adab), and Prophetic Spirituality (Ihsan).
