Chris Blauvelt (Islamic Studies Consultant)
Chris Abdur-Rahman Blauvelt is the Islamic Studies consultant at BHA, responsible for overseeing the success of the Islamic Studies program and overall Islamic atmosphere at the school. Chris has been an educational consultant for the last decade, working from Michigan to Dubai, and holds an M.A. in Education Leadership from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor as well as a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Chris is also the founder of LaunchGood.com, a global crowdfunding platform supporting Muslims doing good work across the world, and Patronicity.com, a civic crowdfunding platform in America. He lives in Dearborn with his wife Amani and daughter Maryam, who is happily enrolled in BHA's toddler program.
Lina Laham (Arabic Language Consultant)
Lina holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Arabic Language and Islamic studies from Damascus, She moved to the US in the year 2001 where she studied and obtained a degree in Interior Design from Oakland Community College, she continued her academic progress to obtain a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Central Michigan University. During her academic progress she worked with Dar Al Huda School, Riverside Academy GEE Group Schools, and currently with Beverly Hills Academy. She has over 12 years of experience in the Arabic Language field, teaching, and preparing curriculums for many levels. Lina is a dedicated, resourceful, and goal-driven professional educator with a solid commitment to the social and academic growth and development of every student. She is accommodating and versatile individual, her experience in the Interior Design enables her to add an artistic touch to the inspiring curriculum materials that capture every child’s imagination and breed success, and ensuring that every child’s learning styles and abilities are addressed. Lina is a board member of the Islamic Culture Center of New York handling the community’s social events, and children’s growth.
